Regulatory Affairs Professional

We are recruiting a Regulatory Affairs Professional to support our client's Environmental and Regulatory Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state (CA), and federal environmental regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related field and 2+ years of experience with environmental regulations and compliance. They will serve as a primary point of contact for third-party contractors and consultants on projects involving regulated substances.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for third-party contractors and consultants on projects involving regulated substances
- Facilitate communication with governmental agencies and city departments regarding environmental issues related to URP and BD sites
- Ensure timely coding and submission of invoices and check requests to Accounts Payable
- Collect and upload compliance data to various regulatory platforms
- Keep AQMD permits for all plant facilities current and compliant
- Monitor weather conditions and oversee the deployment and inspection of Best Management Practices (BMPs)
- Maintain and track environmental training programs for company personnel
- Collaborate with external consultants to update plant information books and training materials for the Business Emergency Plan, SPCCs, and SWPPPs
- Engage in training and certification programs related to smoke reading, asphalt and aggregate plant operations, mine safety, stormwater management, and compliance with Rules 403, 1157, 1155, and Method 22
- Prepare necessary permits and documentation for regulatory agencies, including local air districts and fire departments
- Prepare annual mining inspection reports and financial assurance reports
- Review soil testing data for compliance and acceptance in import fill and inert fill operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience with local, state (CA), and federal environmental regulations and compliance
- Familiarity with California environmental regulations is preferred
- Valid Driver's License with a clean DMV record
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of managing specific tasks independently while collaborating effectively with others
