Records Management Specialist

Job Summary:
UIC Alaska is seeking a highly skilled Records Management Specialist to join our team. As a Records Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the operation and management of classified libraries, ensuring compliance with security guidelines and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct annual NATO inventory and BITS classified information inventory
- Stay up-to-date on necessary trainings, including Restricted Data Training, NATO Training/Briefing, and Derivative Classification Training
- Work with security personnel to establish a Standard Operating Procedure that adheres to security guidelines and fulfills researcher needs
- Reorganize physical and virtual documents to improve findability and locate documents requested by researchers
- Determine and document the eligibility of requestors to view documents and make information accessible to researchers via external media or viewing appointments
- Manage the CTIC collection, including coordinating drop-off of new materials, picking up classified mail, and handling transfers to CTIC
- Catalog new classified materials in BITS and Scribe and properly house new material
- Work with the Carderock Librarian to establish digital storage for digital collections
- Oversee the clear-out of upstairs space, including assessing Code 80 material and arranging destruction of classified and unclassified material deemed unnecessary to keep
- Drawings and Historical Material, including creating a comprehensive inventory of all drawings, comparing drawing inventory to digitized collections, and working with SMEs to determine classification of drawings
- Address unaccounted for documents, including clearing out and reorganizing space, locating missing documents, and updating Scribe and BITS
- Manage digitization efforts, including establishing a digitization space, working with Physical Security to ensure security requirements are met, and arranging the return of the space to Code 70 when the project is complete
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or advanced technical training and a minimum of three years of experience in addition to Target Experience
- Three to five years of experience in records management and associated duties, such as archiving, digitization, document organization/prioritization
- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and work independently with little direction
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level and be a US citizen
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift to 25 pounds
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or bend for prolonged amounts of time
