Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, perform calculations, classifications, and documentation of numerical data to maintain comprehensive financial records. Engage in a variety of routine tasks including computing, posting, and verifying duties to gather essential financial information for the upkeep of accounting records.

The following responsibilities are intended to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and obligations and ARE NOT intended to serve as a complete list of all tasks performed by all employees in this role. The incumbent(s) may not be required to execute all tasks listed and may be assigned additional, specific duties relevant to the position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize accounting software on computers to record, store, and analyze financial information.
  • Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, ensuring correct entries and proper coding.
  • Classify, document, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records, using journals, ledgers, or computerized systems.
  • Manage debits, credits, and totals on spreadsheets and databases through specialized accounting applications.
  • Operate calculators and copiers to perform calculations and produce necessary documentation.
  • Receive, document, and deposit cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and corporate policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables regarding cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profit and loss statements.
  • Code documents in accordance with company protocols.
  • Identify and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures and systems, including word processing, file management, form design, and other office protocols.
  • Understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Proficiency in customer service principles, including needs assessment, quality standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills for problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage personal and others' time efficiently.
  • Logical reasoning skills to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Capacity to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Relevant professional work experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Non-supervisory - Two (2) years of professional work experience in health education, health-related research, and/or health-related program development, implementation, and evaluation. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be considered in lieu of experience.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Must be admitted to practice before the appropriate courts.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience in the relevant field. Training or experience specific to worksite wellness programs is highly preferred, along with experience in implementing systems change in worksite environments.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The following demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Must be able to lift approximately 20 pounds.
