Individuals in this position do not oversee other personnel.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING SPECIALIST II

In this advanced technician role, duties encompass transportation engineering surveys, inspections, design tasks, materials evaluation, and data acquisition. Responsibilities may differ based on assignments and could involve drafting design specifications, formulating maintenance contract details, and calculating project metrics. Employees in this capacity do not manage others but may offer mentorship to junior staff.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING SPECIALIST III

At the journey level, professionals engage in a broad spectrum of engineering support functions such as surveying, inspections, design work, and traffic analysis. Responsibilities may include assessing construction projects, conducting evaluations of roadways and bridges, and preparing CADD plans. Individuals in this role may supervise team members and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.
