Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Orchestration Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing network architectures that meet the evolving needs of our research and development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network architectures that meet the requirements of our research and development projects.
  • Develop and maintain network configurations and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in network engineering.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience with Linux, Ansible, Containers, C/C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, and other relevant technologies.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols, such as OSPF and i/BGP.
  • Understanding of network and transport layers of communication or networking systems, IPV4/6, TCP, and other emerging protocols.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Expert level knowledge of network testbed development and experience with network emulation/simulation.
  • Operational experience with virtualization and enterprise computing platforms.
  • Relevant experience with military and commercial satellite communication systems and network engineering.
  • Experience in project management/development, ideally leading multi-disciplinary teams.
