Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range and reflects a broad spectrum of salaries for this role across the country.

The actual salary will be influenced by various factors, including the role's scope, complexity, and location; the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience; and other employment conditions.

As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees may also qualify for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The financial analysis team at Travelers Personal Insurance transforms raw data into actionable insights to narrate the story of past financial outcomes and project future possibilities.

This team operates independently to collaborate with business partners, enabling informed decisions grounded in economic reality.

As a Senior Consultant in Financial Analysis, you will prepare, assess, validate, and compile financial reports for a designated business area and conduct analyses to identify trends and anomalies.

You will utilize your ability to connect with others and take proactive measures to meet customer needs.

This role will work closely with the Strategic Practices and Technology divisions within Personal Insurance to develop and maintain detailed expense budgets, monthly forecasts, project financial tracking, and supplementary analysis and insights.


Key Responsibilities
Prepare, assess, and validate financial and operational reports.
Analyze and interpret trends and variances in business performance while frequently interacting with cross-functional peers.
Conduct testing and validation of data and analyses as needed.
Synthesize and present findings, results, observations, and recommendations to your direct manager, team members, and/or cross-functional peers.
Support your financial and business partners in creating analyses that bolster business strategy.
Review competitor press releases, SEC filings, and industry trade publications for valuable insights, linking key themes together.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or currently pursuing a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting, or professional designations such as CPA, CMA, or comparable advanced professional education.

Experience with financial analysis concepts and processes, as well as accounting practices and principles.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business partners.
Ability to analyze data to interpret trends and provide insights to management.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively seek ways to enhance processes for the business.
Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (e.g., TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).

What is Required?
A minimum of two years of experience in finance, financial planning, accounting, or a related field.
