Job Summary

The Instructor of Record for the DAAC Program will report to the Director of the Inmate Education Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction for the Inmate Education Program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing classroom instruction in DAAC classes using face-to-face delivery
  • Implementing curriculum and demonstrating leadership in the instructional process
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of the Inmate Education Program
Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate degree in DAAC or a closely related field
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
  • Prior teaching experience in a public two-year college
  • The ability to understand and implement teaching and evaluation methodologies used in the total instructional process
  • The ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff members in a professional manner
  • The ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments
Working Conditions

The Instructor of Record for the DAAC Program will work in a normal classroom setting with occasional travel required. A valid Texas Driver's License is required.
