Position Overview:

Parsons is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Automation Specialist to become a vital part of our expanding Space & Engineering Solutions division.

As part of our Space Ground System Solutions team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure operations of advanced software systems. Your expertise will contribute to mission-critical research initiatives that enhance National Security. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in software, operating systems, networks, databases, and modern architectures, all aimed at enhancing the functionality and sustainability of sophisticated software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate the configuration, monitoring, and security of both development and production environments across physical, virtual, containerized, and cloud platforms.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and methodologies to implement intricate workflows.
  • Develop tools that optimize internal development, DevOps, and quality assurance processes.
  • Assist with daily system administration tasks to ensure seamless infrastructure operations.
  • Engage effectively with clients, management, and fellow developers to provide insights and guidance in feature design and defect resolution.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in an Agile work environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Refer to the Job Description for educational and experience prerequisites.
  • Possession of an active DoD Secret clearance, with the capability to obtain a TS clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in defining, building, and modifying container images using Dockerfile, along with experience using Docker or Podman.
  • Experience in defining and deploying Kubernetes components such as Pods, Services, and Deployments.
  • Familiarity with deploying and troubleshooting containerized applications on Kubernetes platforms.
  • Experience with Helm package management and working with Helm charts.
  • Knowledge of modern CI/CD practices and tools, including pipelines, GitOps, GitLab, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
  • Experience in cloud-native application development or cloud migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and deployment strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle DB.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNCF CKAD or CKA certification.
  • AWS or GCP certification.
  • Experience in Java/Java EE application deployment and development.
  • Familiarity with Spring/Spring Boot application deployment and development.
  • Experience with Atlassian development and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Unix-based operating systems.
  • Understanding of cloud software development and concepts.
  • Knowledge of web security technologies and best practices.
