Position Overview:

The Culinary Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supporting and overseeing all aspects of kitchen management. This position is accountable for the procurement and receipt of all food products and supplies, as well as the maintenance of kitchen facilities and equipment. The Culinary Operations Manager will demonstrate exceptional culinary skills and experience in menu planning while actively supervising, coaching, and mentoring kitchen staff to uphold quality standards and foster a positive, collaborative work atmosphere.

Compensation: This role offers an hourly wage of $16.50 plus tips.

Benefits: For part-time positions, a 401(k) savings plan and matching contributions are available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efficient management of kitchen operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all alcohol service regulations and monitor compliance during events.
  • Provide continuous guidance and support to both exempt and non-exempt kitchen personnel, ensuring high standards of product quality and guest service.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to Point of Sale systems, both hardware and software.
  • Create employee schedules and validate time records for kitchen operations.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and development for kitchen staff as directed by senior culinary leadership.
  • Document employee performance and attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage event operations from setup to breakdown, including communication with staff and guests.
  • Coordinate all aspects of food product procurement and supply management.
  • Guarantee the quality of bulk recipe preparations and timely presentation of menu items, adhering to company standards.
  • Maintain a budget for food and kitchen supplies.
  • Exhibit coachability and a willingness to receive constructive feedback to enhance skills and performance.
  • Demonstrate reliability with consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in kitchen management within a high-volume restaurant setting is preferred.
  • Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred, including proficiency in email, Excel, Word, and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale and timekeeping systems is advantageous.
  • Basic cash handling skills and mathematical proficiency are required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
