Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant with 4+ years of experience in preparing and filing tax returns for personal, corporate, trust, and non-profit entities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in tax planning, financial reporting, and accounting software, with a focus on delivering excellent client service. The role will involve working on multi-state tax returns, performing monthly, quarterly, and annual book closings, and preparing tax planning projections to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file tax returns for personal, corporate, trust, and non-profit entities.
  • Perform tax planning and projection analysis to assist clients in minimizing tax liability.
  • Close books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Handle multi-state tax returns, ensuring accurate allocation and compliance with local and state tax regulations.
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online and Desktop to manage and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Stay up-to-date on tax laws and industry changes that may affect clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Accounting required.
  • 4+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax return preparation.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop is essential.
  • Knowledge of CCH Prosystem or similar tax software is preferred.
  • CPA license is suggested but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
