We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Exponent. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering practice, you will work on developing and executing projects that require expertise in geotechnical and civil engineering systems.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Conducting in-depth analyses of geotechnical and civil engineering systems to identify potential issues and develop effective solutions.
- Evaluating construction claims related to ground conditions, earthwork, and earth structures, including support of excavations, foundations, and retaining walls.
- Preparing conceptual designs for the repair and restoration of geotechnical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Performing peer reviews to ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables.
- Leading project teams to execute project deliverables, including field investigations, analyses, and written and oral presentations of findings.
- Developing project work with new and existing clients, leveraging your expertise to build strong relationships and drive business growth.
You Will Have The Following Skills And Qualifications
- A degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university, with a minimum of 5 years' experience or a degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university plus 10 years' experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Demonstrated success in independently developing and managing client relationships, with a proven track record of driving business growth and revenue.
- Attention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams to achieve project goals.
- A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals or conference proceedings, or demonstrated leadership or activity in geotechnical professional societies.
- Past experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A current licensed professional civil engineer in at least one state, with the ability to become licensed in multiple other states.
