Job Title: Correctional Health Services Administrator

TK Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Health Services Administrator to join our team. As a Correctional Health Services Administrator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all health services and administrative activities of the medical, psychiatric, and dental programs in accordance with federal and state regulations, facility policies and procedures, TK Health policies and procedures, and accreditation agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Medical unit, ensuring compliance with established regulations, protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate the budgetary needs of the program, exercise expenditure controls, and initiate budget requests to assure full utilization of resources in developing plans to meet long-range program needs.
  • Coordinate the purchasing of supplies and equipment and equipment repairs for the unit.
  • Coordinate processing of hospital and physician charges incurred from outside sources.
  • Serve as a key problem-solving resource for staff.
  • Compile and analyze data on patient outcomes, quality assurance/improvement, budget/goal achievement, performance/productivity, and prepare reports per policy.
  • Assure compliance with all practices, policies, and standards related to unit accreditation.
  • Responsible for ensuring establishment, and serve as chairperson of quality assurance/improvement, infection control committees, and staff meetings in accordance with accreditation standards, facility, and TK Health policies.
  • Maintain, implement, and communicate TK Health policies and procedures to staff.
  • Perform recruitment, selection, orientation/training, and evaluation of staff.
  • Monitor subcontracted services to include pharmacy, lab, x-ray, and specialty providers.
  • Collaborate with providers, medical professionals, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and resolve identified problems.
  • Participate in planning related to clinic and emergency/disaster response system.
  • Demonstrate accurate and timely documentation according to policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that health records, reports, and other medical information conforms to prescribed standards; ensures that all required reports are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Assist in outside medical public relations as assigned.
  • Provide on-call services with clear communication and follow-up as indicated.
  • Effectively interact with patients, facility staff, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Current valid, unrestricted RN license
  • Corrections experience is preferred
