ABOUT FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMUNITY BASED CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

The Franklin County CBCF serves as a diversion initiative aimed at decreasing repeat offenses and enhancing community safety. Our goal is to foster a secure environment that promotes behavioral change through tailored programming and cognitive restructuring. The facility accommodates adult male residents for a maximum duration of 180 days, focusing on community safety and addressing residents' criminogenic needs through intensive cognitive behavioral interventions.

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) (Non-Exempt)

Key Responsibilities

This role operates under the direct oversight of the Intake Supervisor. The incumbent is responsible for:

  • Monitoring and observing the medical care plans for residents.
  • Conducting initial health evaluations and ongoing health assessments.
  • Implementing physician directives and managing regular health inquiries.
  • Assisting physicians during medical consultations and coordinating external medical appointments.
  • Documenting and maintaining comprehensive records related to residents' medical care.
  • Overseeing the inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Managing the medical budget and procuring necessary supplies.
  • Identifying healthcare needs and providing health education to both staff and residents, including CPR/First Aid training.
  • Responding to crisis situations effectively.
Physical Requirements

This position necessitates considerable standing, walking, sitting, and effective communication. The ability to lift and transfer up to 30 pounds is required. Visual acuity must be adequate for operating necessary equipment.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • Typing proficiency of at least 20 words per minute and strong computer skills.
  • A valid State of Ohio nursing license with current CPR certification.
  • The ability to obtain CPR/First Aid instructor certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of medical experience, preferably in a correctional environment.
  • The capability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • A valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record.
