Production Manager

This is a 6+ month assignment with Chipton Ross Inc., a leading provider of engineering, manufacturing, and logistics services.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining schedules for material requirements and availability, optimizing inventory storage systems, and ensuring inventory processes comply with quality standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control.
- Optimize inventory storage systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Interface with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, and other related departments to resolve problems related to receipt and distribution of material.
- Make decisions on part categorization, default bin size, and location.
- Research kit shortages, expedite missing kits, and ensure accurate kit integration.
- Understand, research, and reconcile traceability.
- Ensure inventory processes comply with quality standards and procedures.
- Participate in 5S and other continuous improvement practices.
- Manage projects using relevant software tools and track to meet completion dates.
- Support the organization's metric goals and objectives.
- Analyze flow of material to reduce time of request to delivery.
- Packing and shipping outgoing orders via UPS, FedEx, and various freight carriers.
- Receive and transact all incoming material in MRP system.
- Conduct cycle counts to validate quantity, revision levels, stock location, and transfers.
- Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Experience with inventory operations within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Microsoft applications.
- Capable of using forklift and other inventory-related equipment.
Preferred:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Prefer experience with Kiting.
- Liaising between manufacturing & Inventorying.
- Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
Work Schedule:
9/80 workweek, 2nd shift, 1:30PM-11PM.
