About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Project Surveyor to join our team at GPD Group. As a key member of our Survey group, you will be responsible for leading technical efforts on projects, mentoring and developing junior surveyors, and driving growth and opportunity for the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Execution and Leadership: Work with the Project Manager to develop and execute strategic actions aligned with both Survey and GPD Group goals. Coordinate with other professional surveyors and project teams to complete project scope and schedule on time and within GPD's quality standards.
  • Mentoring and Development: Mentor and develop junior surveyors to further our success in the industry. Empower teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translate that to continued career success.
  • Technical Project Work: Conduct all aspects of surveying, including input on field operations, drafting of topographic surveys, and resolution of boundaries. Prepare surveying documents, review plats and easements, and research past survey maps and deeds.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering Technology.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in the Survey industry.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Ohio Professional Surveying License required. Ohio Department of Transportation-Right of Way Reviewer Certification a plus.
  • Skills: Expertise in working on resolution of centerlines, parcel boundaries, and rights of way for design projects. High level of proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software. Experience with Laser Scanning and UAS technologies a plus.
