Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Steam Operating Engineer to join our team at the University of California Los Angeles. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of our complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and repair major and auxiliary equipment, including chillers, domestic and hydronic hot water heaters, cooling towers, expansion valves, motors, fans, pumps, controls, hermetic and semi-hermetic compressors, and other specialized HVAC equipment.
  • Inspect operating controls, safety controls, and all related auxiliary equipment for obvious damage, signs of deterioration, and need of replacement to ensure safe, correct, and accurate operation.
  • Prepare accurate written reports and maintenance records.
  • Interact with staff, management, and the campus community in an effective and diplomatic manner.
  • Perform duties utilizing appropriate safety practices.
