Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

Acting as a working shift Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, guiding, training, and coordinating a designated shift for services rendered to airlines and charter flights. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and engage in Ramp Services operations for both contracted commercial flights and charter aircraft. This includes managing baggage transfers, aircraft deicing, cleaning, lavatory services, and power unit hookups.
  • Direct and train assigned Agents, ensuring comprehensive training for new employees and ongoing in-service training, including compliance and safety training. Maintain accurate training records.
  • Implement departmental policies as directed and advise the Station Manager on policy matters, making recommendations for operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate service activities with airline personnel, station managers, and TSA representatives as necessary for your shift.
  • Participate in the operation and training of various equipment types, ensuring all machinery is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Ensure adherence to FAA and TSA regulations, airline policies, and operational directives. Attend regular meetings to stay updated.
  • Maintain emergency checklists and supplies, preparing and submitting reports related to service activities and personnel as required.
  • Update the Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication between airport personnel, airline dispatch, and flight captains regarding passenger manifests, fueling requirements, and other critical information.
  • Handle various business-related tasks, including billing, payment data updates, cash handling, and supply ordering.

Physical Demands:

This role requires physical activities such as bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, climbing, and reaching. You must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and work at heights up to 40 feet for tasks like de-icing aircraft.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, exposing you to various weather conditions and safety hazards associated with aircraft operations.

Education, Experience and Training:

A minimum of one year of experience in the aviation industry is required, with at least six months as an Airline Ramp Service Agent. Initial and advanced training will be provided as per airline requirements.

Knowledge:

A thorough understanding of aircraft types used at the station and familiarity with FAA/TSA security directives is essential.

Licensing/Certification:

A valid Driver's License is required, along with necessary certifications as mandated by the airline.

Miscellaneous Requirements:

Successful completion of a background investigation and drug testing is mandatory. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, is essential.
