We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Modem SoC Lead Architect to spearhead strategic advancements in 5G Cellular Modem technology, evaluating critical architectural trade-offs in collaboration with cross-functional domain specialists.
Responsibilities:
This role requires collaboration with numerous cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams, including hardware, software, and system engineers. The ability to navigate uncertainties and work collaboratively with these teams is crucial.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on innovative systems and technologies.
- Investigate new methodologies aligned with emerging technologies, competitive performance demands, and essential system constraints.
- Conduct feasibility assessments including SoC area, performance, and power estimates.
- Direct an efficient system/hardware/software architecture to fulfill product specifications.
- Evaluate and guide system integration feasibility, feature, and implementation trade-offs of new technologies.
- Review, challenge, and influence strategic roadmaps, establishing technology intercept targets for future SoCs.
- Identify and comprehend technology trends.
- Ownership and authorship of specifications for the high-level architecture or key SoC features.
Proven expertise in SoC hardware architecture within the consumer electronics sector. Experience in Wireless and Cellular technologies such as LTE/5G NR is advantageous.
Must possess exceptional SoC and system architecture fundamentals supported by significant experience.
This entails a solid understanding of power and performance trade-offs, transient and steady-state performance states, idle and dynamic power states, and the interaction of SoC data and control flows.
Strong understanding of Microprocessor Subsystems, Memory Controllers, and Communication Fabrics.Good grasp of the Digital ASIC Flow and Debug methodology.
Comprehensive understanding of electrical and thermal considerations at the chip, package, and system levels.
Familiarity with hardware-software interfaces.
Excellent communication skills across organizations and at the executive level.
Outstanding documentation and writing skills for clear and concise reporting.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize conflicting requirements in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Robust cross-site teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a range.
The base pay range for this position is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will be based on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if they voluntarily participate in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
