Clinical Therapist

The Clinician (MSW/MFT/PCC) position is a critical role within Christ-Centered Ministries, subcontracted through DHS (Department of Health Services) and ODR (Offices of Diversion and Reentry) to provide CBR (Community Based Recovery) services to clients exiting local jails and state hospitals. This clinical position focuses on delivering mental health services to individuals with complex needs, including those with a history of homelessness, substance use disorder, PTSD, and significant mental illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct psychotherapy to clients, establishing individualized intervention/treatment plans to promote identified goals.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to identify and address client needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service objectives and outcomes, adhering to federal, state, and local requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, including psychiatrists, case managers, and medical staff, to ensure clients' healthcare needs are met.
- Complete weekly court reports as needed and participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and staff trainings.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- Current licensure/registration in California as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance use disorder is preferred.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, Part-R, CPR, and First Aid is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Dropbox, and other relevant software is necessary.
- Strong leadership and clinical skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to work within a dynamic environment serving the homeless community.
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely client flow.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and ability to present persuasively.
The Clinician (MSW/MFT/PCC) role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and coping with ambiguity. The position involves some walking, bending, and kneeling, as well as moderate lifting of at least 30 lbs. or more. There is a risk of exposure to bodily fluids, infections, and chemicals, as well as unpredictable situations.
