About the Role:
The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) is responsible for the medication passing of clients suffering from addictions and behavioral health issues. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the QMA manages, administers, and educates clients on their medication.

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and administer medications under supervision of a licensed nurse. Obtain vital signs, including O2 and perform blood glucose sticks, and report information to licensed nurses. Apply minor treatments after assessment by a licensed nurse. Document medication administration in client records. Apply topical medications and administer metered dose inhalers. Administer enemas under the direction of a licensed nurse. Obtain UDS and fecal matter specimens, test, and document accordingly. Clean medication carts and ensure no loose or expired medications are present. Ensure medications are clearly labeled and tagged for reorder as needed. Adhere to training and development standards set forth by Hickory, Joint Commission, and State Regulations.
