POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Engineering Team Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of the Mechanical Engineering Team within a matrix organizational structure. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for managing the daily functions of the team. The Team Supervisor maintains consistent communication with engineers as they engage in various projects, ensuring adherence to engineering principles and compliance with established guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Mechanical Engineering Team.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering best practices and standards, while enforcing configuration management protocols.
  • Act as the Technical Lead for mechanical engineers, providing guidance on technical decisions and reviewing designs.
  • Guarantee that designs meet customer specifications and comply with relevant regulatory standards.
  • Ensure design consistency across various projects, leveraging proven design concepts effectively.
  • Assist engineers in project planning and scheduling activities.
  • Review and approve engineering work completed by the Mechanical Engineering Team.
  • Supervise various engineering tasks, including sales order assessments and vendor defect management.
  • Train new team members on engineering processes and company protocols.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the department manager.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Quality Compliance: Develop and maintain standards and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2008.
  • Stay updated with technical skills through participation in training sessions, specialized courses, seminars, and trade shows as necessary.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of engineering design experience, encompassing design methodologies, engineering materials, and associated manufacturing systems.

At least 3 years of supervisory experience in an engineering context.

Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficiency in computer applications: Solidworks or other 3D-CAD software, experience with MRP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
