Job Description

Overview

Community Development Corporation of Long Island (CDCLI) is seeking a highly skilled Attorney to join our team. As a Foreclosure Attorney, you will play a critical role in representing clients in residential mortgage and tax lien foreclosure proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all phases of residential mortgage and tax lien foreclosure proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements and loan modifications for homeowners.
  • Represent homeowners at foreclosure settlement conferences.
  • Assist homeowners with non-retention options such as short sale or deed in lieu of foreclosure.
  • Represent homeowners in surplus money proceedings following foreclosure auctions.
  • Manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Engage in community outreach and education to promote CDCLI's Homeownership Center programs and services.
  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining customer records, inputting data, and generating status reports.
  • Collaborate with external partners and serve as an ambassador for CDCLI.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive knowledge of residential mortgage and tax lien foreclosure laws and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using online tools and resources.
