HES Facilities, a leading provider of facilities management services to educational institutions, is seeking a skilled Landscaping Professional to join their team.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in lawn care and be able to operate various landscaping machinery. This includes mowers, edgers, backpack blowers, and other equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing grounds keeping tasks on properties, including mowing turf, line trimming and edging, sweeping and blowing leaves and clippings, pruning shrubs and trees as needed, pulling weeds, and cleaning sites.

Additionally, the Landscaping Professional will be responsible for preparing trucks for the day, loading gas cans, mowers, and other equipment onto company trucks/trailers, securing all equipment, and maintaining and repairing tools, equipment, and structures.

The role also involves snow removal, which requires being available nights, weekends, and holidays.

The minimum qualifications for this position include a high school degree, some experience in lawn care, and the ability to operate various lawn care machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform grounds keeping tasks on properties, including mowing turf, line trimming and edging, sweeping and blowing leaves and clippings, pruning shrubs and trees as needed, pulling weeds, and cleaning sites.
  • Prepare trucks for the day by loading gas cans, mowers, and other equipment onto company trucks/trailers, securing all equipment, and maintaining and repairing tools, equipment, and structures.
  • Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
  • Shovel snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots and spread salt in those areas.
  • Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, trimming, edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
  • Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge/brush trimmers, axes, shears, pruners, or chain saws.
Requirements
  • High school degree preferred.
  • Some experience in lawn care helpful.
  • Ability to operate various lawn care machinery, including mowers, edgers, backpack blowers.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.
  • Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.
  • Self-starting individual who follows directions, adheres to a work schedule, and can focus on details.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, and vendors.
Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

This is an estimated salary range based on industry standards and the requirements of the position.
