Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at HealthCare Connections, Inc. as a Grossing Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the pathologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine specimen preparation, including cutting various tissue types and mounting them on glass slides for examination under the microscope by the pathologist.
  • Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Distribute stained slides to the correct pathologist or hospital.
  • Perform microtomy and IHC staining of all same-day requests.
  • Run all same-day STAT cases for all hospitals.
  • Ensure adequate stock of controls.
Requirements
  • Nationally certified histotechnician with experience in immunohistochemistry.
  • Ability to perform complex histologic procedures and analyze problems using scientific principles.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Education and Certification
  • Masters or Bachelors degree in a related field.
  • CLIA Compliant to gross complex specimens.
  • One (1) year of experience in a similar role.
