Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker III to join our facilities operations team at the University of Texas at Dallas. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for our buildings and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with the upkeep of grounds and buildings, including landscaping and snow removal.
  • Install and modify building equipment systems, including electrical and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain lighting systems, including cleaning and replacing bulbs and lamps.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks and projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas that require attention and perform necessary tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; four years of experience in general maintenance duties or trade school preferred.
  • Licenses as required, including a valid Texas Driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and may be required to work in inclement weather. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment is essential for this role.
