Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative Lead to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a key member of our Revenue Cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate completion of financial clearance tasks, while providing exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate patient insurance and benefit information to ensure proper financial clearance
  • Communicate with patients and their representatives to resolve financial clearance issues
  • Work closely with the Supervisor to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Assist with timely completion of Hospital and Cancer Center Financial Clearance tasks
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on financial clearance protocols and process flows
Requirements
  • Associate's degree with 1 year of experience in financial services, healthcare, or related industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC experience and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Billing experience, accounts receivable, or hospital patient access/registration experience
  • Familiarity with medical insurance benefits and EMR computerized registration/financial/IT systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Stony Brook Medicine offers a competitive salary range of $58,424 - $71,218 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
