Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop industrial pretreatment programs and discharge limits in accordance with 40 CFR 403 for municipal clients nationwide.
  2. Conduct comprehensive studies and create technical documentation to ensure the protection of Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs).
  3. Consult with POTWs during the development of Control Mechanisms and assist in establishing local regulatory frameworks.
  4. Review draft designs and reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, adhering to firm policies and practices.
  5. Perform site evaluations as necessary to align designs with client and local requirements.
  6. Contribute to the firm’s Technical Knowledge Management by producing white papers and technical design documentation for innovative projects.
  7. Collaborate with sales teams to prepare proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  8. Engage with clients to assess their current and future design needs, enhancing the visibility of the firm’s technical capabilities through participation in conferences and symposia.

This role seeks an individual with strong communication skills capable of providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience to lead projects in water and wastewater treatment, particularly in developing industrial pretreatment programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required by project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
