Role Responsibilities:

The Operating Room Technician (Surg Tech, CST) will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care in a manner that respects each individual's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the surgical environment and assisting the surgeon during procedures.

Key Duties:

  • Support departmental goals, including room turnover and timely starts for surgeries
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new staff as directed by the Clinical Educator
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients
  • Uphold sterile techniques throughout surgical procedures

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of a surgical technology program, certification through NBSTSA or NCCT, or graduation from a practical nursing program
  • Licensure / Certification: If a graduate of a practical nursing program, a current, valid license to practice in Ohio is required
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers is mandatory
