Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder System in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Perform other support duties as required to support operations
Requirements:
  • Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Benefits:
  • Average weekly pay: $1080
  • Hourly pay: $27.00 per hour
  • Sign on bonus: Schedule: Monday–Friday Weekends OFF
  • Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
