Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Grask Truck Group of Kansas. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing service and repair on heavy-duty trucks, covering all makes and models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine unit condition and identify deficiencies.
  • Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain cost efficiency by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records with documentation of service and repairs.
  • Complete engine overhauls and other repairs identified during the diagnostic process.
  • Read schematics for electrical and air systems.
  • Use good judgment to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Apply knowledge and work in accordance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Solid working knowledge of power tools required to perform all phases of truck/chassis repair and maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to perform all phases of heavy-duty diesel equipment and services at higher levels of experience.
  • Professional and safety-minded at all times.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Work well independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • CDL preferred.
  • Must be able to pass mandatory pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have own toolbox and tools.
  • Steel toe shoes or boots needed.
