POSITION OVERVIEW: The Culinary Services Coordinator plays a vital role within the Dietary Department, tasked with the preparation, serving, and delivery of meals to inpatient clients, board meetings, and various staff functions. This position also encompasses responsibilities related to maintaining kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, which includes the washing of dishes, pots, pans, and the routine cleaning of dietary equipment, floors, and storage areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following list outlines the essential duties associated with this role, which may be performed with or without accommodation. It is not exhaustive and does not limit management from assigning additional related tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace regulations promoting dignity, respect, and equal employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and accept constructive feedback from supervisors.
  • Adhere to the organization's established rules and regulations.
  • Serve meals to clients in the cafeteria, deliver food to clients in the Acute Care Unit, and replenish snacks in unit galleys.
  • Thoroughly wash and sanitize all kitchenware, utensils, and cooking equipment, ensuring proper organization.
  • Dispose of waste responsibly at the end of each shift.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks related to kitchen and dining areas.
  • Organize and store deliveries of food and supplies from vendors.
  • Operate dishwashing machinery to guarantee effective cleaning of all kitchen items.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area, including worktables, shelves, and sinks; empty waste receptacles after each meal service.
  • Conduct daily cleaning of the kitchen floor and other designated areas as instructed by the Food Services Manager.
  • Receive training in proper food preparation, handling, and storage methods.
  • Participate in scheduled training sessions.
  • Follow all departmental and organizational protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred but not required.
