Job Title: MRI Technologist - Travel Position

FlexStaff is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist for a travel assignment in Staten Island, New York.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced MRI Technologist to join our team for a 13-week travel assignment. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, explaining procedures in a clear and concise manner, and operating MRI equipment to administer procedures in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for MRI examinations
  • Explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner
  • Operate MRI equipment to administer procedures
  • Screen patients according to protocol and obtain consent when necessary
  • Perform MRI procedures, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, and extremities
  • Key in patient history data and other pertinent information
  • Calculate the number of scans to be obtained based on patient size
  • Operate equipment for the transfer of computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape
  • Assist the Radiologist with administration of I.V contrast
  • Monitor patient condition and directly observe patient during the examination
  • Recognize and report changes in patient condition and/or motor abnormality complaints
  • Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks on equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems of the equipment
  • Assist in patient flow, including scheduling exams and completing exams
Requirements:
  • Current certification as an MRI Technologist
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including days and evenings
