Position Overview:
The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective execution of surgical operations. This position primarily involves assisting surgeons and registered nurses during surgical procedures.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Manager of Surgical Services.
Employment Classification:
Non-exempt position.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Graduation from an accredited program in a relevant discipline is preferred.
Skills Required:
Critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to work independently are essential. The role demands the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
Certifications:
Surgical Tech certification is required within six months of employment.
An Associate's Degree along with two years of relevant experience is required if the certification is not obtained at the time of hire.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
