Job Summary:

The primary function of a mechanical engineer is to investigate and research the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes. This role requires the ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and develop tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
• Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and provide recommendations for maintenance.
• Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.

Required Skills:

• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Team player and detail-oriented individual.
• Ability to create sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering is required. 5-7 years of experience are also required.

Additional Role Details:

This role involves facilitation, project leadership, and design influence with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). The work location could be Aurora, IL, Peoria, IL, or Tucson, AZ.
