Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, working closely with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients using radiation therapy equipment, ensuring accurate treatment delivery and patient safety.
  • Prepare and construct equipment, such as immobilization devices and treatment machines, to ensure proper operation and patient comfort.
  • Monitor patient progress, recognizing and reporting any signs of complications or adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, reactions, and post-treatment care, providing emotional support and reassurance.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks, maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues or concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest radiation therapy techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field, such as radiation therapy or a related healthcare field.
  • Board certification in radiation therapy, with eligibility for certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills, with experience in radiation therapy software and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
