Highway Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer to join our dynamic team at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing critical infrastructure that improves our world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop roadway projects, including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadside evaluation and design, maintenance of traffic design, utility coordination, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with our team to deliver high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure our designs are innovative and effective.
  • Work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their expectations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in highway design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • P.E., registered in the state of Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience designing roadway projects and preparing contract documents in accordance with FDOT policies and procedures.
  • Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD.
  • 3D design experience a plus.
  • Experience with Alternative Delivery projects (Design-Build, P3, etc.) a plus.
