Job Summary

The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in a professional manner, ensuring customers' needs are met on a continual basis for various waste pickup and supply delivery. This role requires a high level of customer service and involves transporting waste from Stericycle locations or customer sites to transfer or processing locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure safe, timely, and accurate waste pickup and delivery.
  • Transport waste according to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Plan daily schedules based on customers' needs and review daily paperwork provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
  • Follow routing software route schedules and prepare trucks for service.
  • Unload trucks at Stericycle and customer sites, ensuring waste is secured.
  • Provide excellent customer service, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution.
  • Ensure waste, supplies, and equipment are secured prior to operating vehicles on public highways.
  • Complete assigned paperwork accurately and return it to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher.
  • Communicate with Stericycle Transportation Supervisor and/or Dispatcher regarding any changes to route pickups or customer issues.
Requirements
  • 6+ months of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
  • Valid standard driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED).
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records as required by federal regulation.
