About the Role

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Hazardous Waste Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our environmental services group, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing hazardous waste management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer support to clients in determining regulatory compliance for hazardous waste management processes.
  • Assist in the pick-up and delivery of full and empty containers to facilities across the installation.
  • Operate vehicles, forklifts, and inspect container contents to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
  • Rinse empty containers prior to recycling and consolidate materials/wastes for collection/disposal.
  • Interact with Hazardous Waste Program Manager and Hazardous Waste Management Facility Supervisor to ensure environmental compliance with all environmental protocols.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
  • Medical physical and pass required.
  • Working knowledge of Air Force Instructions (AFI) and federal environmental regulations relevant to hazardous materials management.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous materials management and OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
Work Environment

The work environment for this role will involve working in hot and cold conditions, with potential exposure to natural hazards such as rain and snow.

Language and Communication Skills

The ideal candidate will have good written and oral communication skills, with fluency in the English language - writing, reading, and speaking.
