CONMED Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Research and Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical modules, circuit boards, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop system and board level requirements, architecture, conceptual designs, design verification protocols, test plans, test reports, and manufacturing documentation.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical modules, circuit boards, and systems.
- Manage FPGA development, simulation, verification, and documentation.
- Conduct/participate in design reviews, present results of formal analysis, generate project progress reports, and investigation summaries.
- Participate in medical compliance and safety certification for various electrical systems.
- Work with cross-functional development teams to develop new medical equipment and sustain engineering activities.
- Manage sub-projects and provide technical oversight of internal and external resources.
- Design and coordinate the construction of manufacturing test fixtures for production manufacturing.
- Perform sustaining engineering activities and continued support for existing products.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience for Senior Engineer position.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience for Principal Engineer position.
- Prior medical device experience.
- Strong background in embedded real-time system design.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Track record of completing development projects on-time and on-budget with incremental deliverables.
- Good balance of theoretical and practical experience.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools, including Schematic Capture and Layout.
- 5-7 years' experience designing and implementing 8, 16, or 32-bit embedded processors in a commercial/medical environment.
- Working knowledge of C or C++ programming in an embedded environment.
- Serial communication experience.
- Verilog/VHDL and latest FPGA architectures.
