Clinical Faculty Position in Gastroenterology

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Clinical Faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in patient care and teaching, working collaboratively with leadership to grow the Division, and developing new basic, clinical, or translational research programs.
Responsibilities- Grow the clinical practice and foster new clinical initiatives with the Health System.
- Continued development of Advanced Endoscopy services.
- Actively participate in the teaching activities in support of students, residents, and fellows.
- Serve as Associate Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program.
- Developing relationships with the community that promote the academic mission.
- Teaching evaluations by Gastroenterology faculty through fellow, resident, and student evaluations, conference attendance/participation by faculty and fellows.
- Continued participation of faculty in resident and student education.
- Community outreach; development of a strategy for referral of patients requiring complex care.
- Improvement in quality and patient satisfaction metrics.
A Doctorate degree and board-eligibility, or board-certification in GI is required. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training. Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
BenefitsThis position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
