Job Summary:

The Biomedical Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing sophisticated medical equipment and systems at Kaiser Permanente. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems.
  • Conduct pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation, and de-installation as needed.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, and electrical safety tests to maintain code compliance.
  • Document the results of all inspections, maintenance, and tests.
  • Collaborate with biomedical engineers, KPIT, Business Partners, and OEM representatives to ensure seamless service support.
  • Complete applicable documentation of all work performed in a timely manner.
  • Travel to provide service support and attend technical training.
  • Participate in on-call schedules to perform emergency service.
Requirements:
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in formal and/or on-the-job training.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Good driving record and willingness to work extended hours.
  • Proficiency in operating PCs with Windows operating systems.
