Job Overview:

The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) division is dedicated to ensuring the safety and health of our workforce. WHS provides strategic guidance, resources, and best practices to foster a secure environment that promotes employee wellbeing. We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the WHS site manager and WHS specialist, and occasionally with the Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS). Your responsibilities will include participating in weekly safety committee meetings and engaging with new hires through direct interactions.

As an OMR, you will be responsible for independently evaluating and administering first aid, as well as advising Associates (AAs) on both work-related and personal health issues. A strong commitment to promoting health and wellness principles is essential, as you will be supporting AAs on a daily basis. You will also refer cases to external medical providers when necessary and familiarize yourself with OSHA regulations and risk management.

In this role, you will be an integral part of the onsite team, addressing all first aid requirements and supporting safety operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer first aid and coordinate referrals to external medical providers as required.
  • Reduce the risk of injury for AAs through education, awareness, and proactive engagement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of care provided to AAs.
  • Oversee the workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for AAs with work-related injuries.
  • Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
  • Engage with AAs and leadership on the operations floor to coach on observed at-risk behaviors.
  • Ensure a clean working environment and manage medical supply inventory effectively.
  • Participate in training and certification for first aid, CPR, and AED classes.
  • Maintain all necessary first aid, CPR, and AED credentials.
  • Work flexible shifts, which may include days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols.
  • Deliver effective care during emergencies and support emergency response efforts onsite.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; AND
  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider; AND
  • Must possess one of the following:
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT); OR
  • Six months of job experience in the Military as a Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician within the last year; OR
  • Current active Athletic Trainer Certification from the Board of Certification or equivalent State Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with industrial wellness programs.
  • Background in managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated experience with OSHA regulations and Workers Compensation.
  • Proficient in digital recordkeeping.
