Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital. As a Medical Assistant, you will provide clinical support to medical practitioners, assist with medical procedures, and conduct follow-up with patients regarding lab and test results.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for medical procedures and exams
  • Assist medical practitioners with minor surgical procedures
  • Perform in-office testing and procedures
  • Triaging patient calls and responding to patient inquiries
  • Remind patients of upcoming appointments and collect necessary reports and information
  • Execute standing orders, routine preventative services, and prescription refills as authorized by the provider
  • Notify patients of test results and communicate recommendations for diagnostic studies
  • Provide educational information to patients and answer questions
  • Document patient information and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or registration
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program and externship (or equivalent work experience)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Working Conditions:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Potential exposure to hazardous materials may be present.
