Clinical Leader for Chesapeake Behavioral Healthcare

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Director/Psychiatrist to join our team at Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH), the leading behavioral healthcare agency for the City of Chesapeake, VA. Our organization provides comprehensive mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual disability services for residents in this vibrant community.
About the Role:
As the Medical Director/Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in directing the medical/psychiatric services at CIBH, ensuring seamless coordination with agency staff and other external agencies. Your expertise will be invaluable as you provide clinical and administrative supervision to psychiatric physicians, clinical nurse specialists, and the nursing supervisor. Additionally, you will deliver direct psychiatric services to clients, including thorough evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapy, as well as medical evaluation services and medication management on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive service delivery
- Foster partnerships with local healthcare providers and community organizations
Requirements:
To succeed in this position, you must possess a deep understanding of psychiatric medicine, exceptional leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. You should hold a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree, be board certified in Psychiatry, and have relevant experience in a similar capacity. A current Virginia medical license is also mandatory.
