We are seeking a Chief Curatorial Officer to lead our esteemed art collection and exhibition initiatives at the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our extensive art program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Jordan Schnitzer on strategic planning for the art collection and exhibition initiatives.
- Oversee a dedicated team of 11 professionals responsible for acquisitions, exhibition documentation, and the execution of a dynamic exhibition schedule.
- Build and nurture relationships with galleries, museums, publishers, and artists to enhance our art program.
- Manage the operations of the Jordan Schnitzer Family Art Program, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.
- Administer the annual budget and ensure effective financial controls are in place.
- Facilitate community outreach and promote the visibility of our art initiatives.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Significant experience in an art museum or similar organization, ideally in a leadership role.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of current trends and challenges in the museum sector.
- Proven leadership capabilities and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
