Fiber Splicer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for preparing and splicing fiber optic cable within a telecommunications system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and splice fiber optic cable to ensure high-quality connections.
  • Use OTDR and fusion splicing equipment to test and repair fiber optic cables.
  • Read and interpret fiber matrices to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Work safely and efficiently in cramped and/or enclosed spaces.
  • Operate technical equipment, including computers and construction equipment.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to climb and work aloft, sit or stand for long periods, and work independently. You will be working in a splicing trailer, outside in all weather conditions, and in rugged terrain. Periodic lifting and manipulating plant and equipment up to 50 pounds is required.
