Job Summary

As a Network Application Operations Engineer at Comcast, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our infrastructure and applications. You will collaborate with various teams and utilize cutting-edge tools to maintain and support critical systems. This role will support 65 different applications (Linux, Unix, and Windows Servers) for application and monitoring support.

Key Responsibilities

Designs and implements enterprise network solutions tailored to our customer's needs.

Supports internal and external teams ensuring our projects are done correctly the first time, follow change management as well as documentation requirements while supporting our operating principles.

Manages multiple long-term projects throughout the market to ensure enterprise goals are being met in a timely manner.

Creates system architecture, design and specification within engineering projects and initiatives. Uses solid engineering skills and knowledge to solve moderate to difficult development problems and achieve engineering goals.

Strives to achieve Company business objectives and engineering objectives in daily activity. Adheres to established company procedures and processes.

Documents results of applied work processes and practical application of technical standards. Reports results to management.

Works with limited supervision. Familiarizes self with company goals and strategies in order to achieve short-term goals with resolution.

Strives to achieve personal goals and those set forth by management.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.

Requirements

BS degree required in Information Technology or other technology related field.

Understanding of Cisco 4510, 9300, 9400 switches and layer 2 technology, Juniper ex4300 platform, Cisco wireless access points.

Understanding of basic cabling such as Category 6 cable, Single mode and multimode fiber optics cables.

Understanding of IP subnetting.

Organized individual and good documentation skills.

Solid business communication skills, both written and verbal to effectively interact with internal users and business units.
