Job Summary

The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care at University Behavioral Health of Denton. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to provide compassionate and supportive care to adolescents and adults with mental health illnesses and substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice.
  • Makes assignments that reflect the competence of staff and patient needs, ensuring that an assignment sheet is filled out every shift.
  • Implement hospital policies and procedures, serving as a resource to the staff.
  • Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, state and regulatory standards, and patient rights standards.
  • Implement Infection Control, Safety, and Risk Management policies and procedures consistently.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
  • Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
  • CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation, including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
