Position Overview
The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing our Projects Team while supporting the expansion of our Compressor Fleet. This position encompasses responsibilities throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will engage in various tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Evaluating new opportunities
  • Quoting and sizing equipment
  • Assessing vendor quotes
  • Specifying components
  • Conducting design and engineering reviews
  • Providing PHA support

Our projects primarily focus on gas gathering, compression, and treatment for producers and midstream operators. The ideal candidate will possess experience in engineering and design related to these types of projects and demonstrate versatility in their role.

Technical Expertise
The Project Engineer will utilize a comprehensive range of process, mechanical, and instrumentation engineering skills to:

  • Evaluate, develop, model, and optimize concepts in support of capital projects
  • Troubleshoot operational or design challenges in existing facilities and equipment
  • Conduct engineering assessments and technical feasibility studies for new business development
  • Perform initial sizing calculations for compression, process, and treatment equipment
  • Develop RFP packages and assess proposals for new engineering initiatives
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, operations, management, vendors, and subject matter experts to define project scope
  • Present technical findings and insights to facilitate collaborative decision-making
  • Engage with external engineering service providers as needed
  • Continuously enhance proficiency in software tools for process simulation, equipment selection/design, and ASME code calculations
  • Oversee the process design and functionality of major projects using both internal and external engineering resources

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or a related Engineering field
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience; 7 years preferred
  • A solid understanding of oil and gas process industry principles and calculations
  • Knowledge of Gas Compressor Station Design
  • Familiarity with Natural Gas Compressor Package Design
  • Experience with Amine Treating Facility Design is advantageous
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities across diverse engineering disciplines
  • Interpersonal skills that enable effective teamwork or independent work
  • A self-starter mentality with the capacity to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Capability to size and select various equipment types (e.g., Vessels, Pumps, Instruments, Control Valves, PSVs)
  • An understanding of ASME pressure vessels
  • Experience in instrument design
  • A grasp of sound project and process engineering management practices
  • Proficiency in computer modeling software (BR&E Promax preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Physical Requirements
This position may require exerting in excess of 25 pounds of force occasionally and in excess of 50 pounds of force rarely to move objects.
