Position Overview
The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the enhancement of our Projects Team and will provide support to our expanding Compressor Fleet. This position encompasses responsibilities throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer's duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating new business opportunities.
- Quoting and sizing equipment.
- Assessing vendor quotes.
- Specifying components and conducting design and engineering reviews.
- Providing support for Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
Our projects primarily focus on gas gathering, compression, and treatment for producers and midstream operators. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the engineering and design of such projects and be adaptable to various roles.
Technical Skills
The Project Engineer will utilize a diverse range of process, mechanical, and instrumentation engineering skills to assess, develop, model, and optimize concepts in support of capital projects. Responsibilities also include:
- Troubleshooting operational or design challenges in existing facilities and equipment.
- Conducting engineering evaluations and assessing technical feasibility for new business initiatives.
- Performing initial sizing calculations for compression, processing, and treatment equipment.
- Creating Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and evaluating proposals for new engineering projects.
- Collaborating with project stakeholders, operations, management, vendors, and subject matter experts to define project scope.
- Reporting technical findings and insights to facilitate collaborative decision-making.
- Engaging with external engineering service providers as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering field.
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is required; 7 years is preferred.
- Understanding of oil and gas process industry principles and calculations.
- Familiarity with Gas Compressor Station Design and Natural Gas Compressor Package Design.
- Knowledge of Amine Treating Facility Design is advantageous.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across various engineering disciplines and organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in sizing and selecting various types of equipment (e.g., vessels, pumps, instruments, control valves, PSVs).
- Understanding of ASME pressure vessels and instrument design.
- Familiarity with project and process engineering management practices.
- Proficient in computer modeling software (BR&E Promax preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Physical Demands
This position may require exerting in excess of 25 pounds of force occasionally and in excess of 50 pounds of force rarely to move objects.
